This website is dedicated to the extraordinary history of 1517-1519 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, a small, but historically significant building in the heart of the nation’s capital. Prominently located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C., it is steeped in the history of the city and, indeed, much more than that.
The building was constructed in 1920, just after World War I ended, and in a time when automobiles still shared the roads with horses. In the century that followed, some of the people who walked through its doors and some of those who worked in the building, forever changed the world... |
